Welcome to today’s episode of Cozy Couch Astrology where we’re going to go over the forecast for June 2023.

There are a total of 14 transits this month. We’re in the thick of Gemini season and the recurring theme this month is balancing the pride of work that you’ve accomplished and humbleness about those accomplishments. There’s nothing wrong with being proud of yourself for doing the thing and sharing that you did the thing. It’s in how we share that we’ve done the thing. We kick off the month with the first transit which happens at 11:42pm EDT on Saturday June 3rd with the Sagittarius Full Moon. The vibe of this Full Moon is an emotional battle of wills filled with shame and unrealistic expectations and power dynamics in which the person with the upper hand is a sore winner. There is possibly arguments with a partner about resources being spent at home and or their lack of effort put into family life instead of their wish to spend time with friends having fun. Having to scale back to make home life feel more secure and grounded can feel constricting to those who have never had to do so before or have difficulty with empathy and understanding the needs of others.

Monday June 5th at 9:47am EDT, Venus enters Leo where she will stay for the next four months. She enters the shadow period on June 18th.  She stations retrograde on July 23rd at 28 degrees of Leo and then stations direct on September 3rd at 12 degrees of Leo. She finally ends her shadow period on October 6th shortly before entering Virgo on October 8th. This is a pretty long time that Venus is spending in the fiery sign of Leo. The vibe for this transit. When Venus enters Leo the vibe is a high stakes stressful fight and you know what? I wouldn’t be surprised if we end up seeing SAG/AFTRA joining the WGA strikes that shut all film and TV making down completely due to the studios being unwilling to pay entertainers and writers their worth on streaming platforms. For the rest of us it is a concentration of fighting for our individual needs in order to work towards a better career or public image despite the resources that our partners are willing to part with. A having support from coworkers, friends, or online support with them shining light onto the subject matter is super helpful when those with the power or upper hand are being stubborn.

Sunday Jun 11th at 6:27am EDT brings Mercury entering its own sign of Gemini during a lovey dovey vibe of sharing with those you love. An ability to vocalize behind closed doors what you’d like to do to someone and what you can bring to the party if you will. A spiritual experience involving bonding. Take this however your brain went. (Please keep in mind that I also write romance novels with on page sex scenes so if your head went THERE so did mine.)

Later that same day at 11:39am EDT the benefics have friction. Now, this could simply mean that one is forcing the other to do things outside its comfort zone. Venus in Leo and Jupiter in her sign of Taurus have a square. Since Jupiter is in Venus’s sign this isn’t as rough as it could be with her softening the blow. It could be a sense of laziness or lack of desire to pursue the minutia the moment is asking you to focus on for your public image or career. Like you want to do the thing. You feel satisfaction in doing the thing but… do you really want to get your ass off the couch right now and people? No. You do not. It’s this need to take other people’s resources for your own individual needs and you know what? As long as you’re communicating effectively that you just don’t have enough spoons at the moment to do the thing it should be ok.

The next astrology transit happens on Thursday June 15th at 12:09pm EDT when Saturn in Pisces has friction with Mercury in his own sign of Gemini. The vibe has changed slightly from the last transit to that of pride and satisfaction of the hard work you have been able to do after you boycotted having to do it in the first place. Once you found the desire to put in the effort towards the goal of higher learning or publishing or legal situations you were able to get the task completed. There could be pressure from a partner regarding the things you say in public about the thing you did. It could be that they’re trying to get you to say less. It’s up to you whether you agree or not. There’s nothing wrong with being proud of your work. There’s no need to stay humble but it could be that your partner is looking at this as a chess game while you’re just relieved to be done with the thing.

Saturday June 17th at 11:29am Mercury and Venus form a harmonious aspect with a concentration on the little details in everything and the satisfaction of completing small tasks toward a bigger picture of your career or public image in secret. It’s finding a way through the idealism of partnerships to focus on the things that are important to how you want to be known and seen in the world. Is this your new title? Is this a thesis paper or dissertation? Whatever it is makes you feel like you’ve accomplished something by taking those baby steps.

On Sunday June 18th at 12:37am EDT we have the Gemini New Moon. The vibe of this New Moon is so delicious. It’s in setting things in motion to make your wildest wishes come true especially in the area of home and family. The ability to communicate your needs and what works for you and doesn’t work for you is just absolute perfection and able to be received well.

Later at 1:28pm EDT Saturn in Pisces stations retrograde. Now even though it entered Pisces on March 7th its shadow period started almost immediately on March 11th. So all of the Saturn themes in whichever house Pisces falls for you will be retraced until it stations direct on November 4th. Then it will be traced over again a third time until it leaves its shadow period February 7th 2024. The vibe of the retrograde station is one of having to be ok with not knowing everything. Of being willing to receive what your friends and coworkers have to say about your work with the goal of nourishing your career or public image in a way that brings the resources of others to you.

The next day on Monday June 19th at 11:52am EDT retrograde Saturn in Pisces and Jupiter in Taurus form a harmonious relationship in the energy of Venus. The vibe has shifted to a well-earned pride in your work ethic from before. That moment when you look around and think “yeah I did that.” You’ve got the emotional support of close friends for what you’ve been working on behind the scenes and your partner is your biggest cheerleader.

The summer solstice occurs on Wednesday June 21st at 10:58am EDT when the Sun enters the sign of Cancer. Happy Birthday Cancer Sun people!! Again there’s a satisfaction that comes from the attention to detail. There’s an ability to receive praise behind the scenes and a new focus on building a community base of your own whether that’s in attending conferences and creating new partnerships or an online community that is supportive and likes what you have to say on your preferred platform. 

A few minutes later at 11:15am Mercury in Gemini and Mars in Leo have a harmonious relationship in the energy of Venus. The continued detail oriented thought process will let you put a secret enemy in their place. It’s being able to say exactly what needs to be said to get them to back off. Sometimes caustic words are the only thing other people can understand and accept.  

On Monday June 26th at 8:24pm EDT Mercury leaves the clear multiple topic communication style of its own sign Gemini for the sideways and back and forth confusing style of Cancer. This is giving a vibe of needing to stay open and receptive to any discussions or messages you have/receive. Mercury’s strength and ability to get the message across has gone down and he might not even be able to be seen right now as he’s fully under the beams of the Sun with zero protection. Having Saturn trying to set boundaries for the communication style is really not helping matters much.

Two days later on Wednesday June 28th at 9:42pm EDT, the Sun in Cancer and Saturn retrograde in Pisces have a harmonious relationship in the energy of Jupiter. There’s a sense of security in your local community and either your creative desires or your children’s needs even if the feelings of your friends are hurt in the process. Your partner is going to try and intervene on your behalf although their words might not be heard.

The final aspect of the month occurs on Friday June 30th at 2:23am when Mercury in Cancer forms a harmonious relationship with Saturn retrograde in Pisces in the nature of Jupiter. There’s a sense of peace that happens with this aspect. Although your desire to work on your own needs might feel at odds with your partner’s emotions at the moment you’re able to establish or rehash boundaries that are needed between home and friends. The communication isn’t as clear as you might like and the boundaries might feel a bit constrictive but you’re able to come to a healthy compromise. Remember compromise and sacrifice are not synonymous. Don’t let anyone try and tell you otherwise.

Time to think about how this month can work for you and to your advantage. Remember the recurring themes of the month are work, pride, and community. There’s a difference between being proud and boasting. I have to admit that I was most definitely a sore winner on Sunday June 4th. Do I feel badly about it though? Meh Not so much. When you’re trying to figure things out remember to keep it simple sweetheart. Astrology is a language and it doesn’t need to be technical. It can be direct and fun. You’re worthy of all the good things coming your way.
